Win Career Counseling From Freelancer Kristen King!

posted by marybabysteps on 01/27/2009 - 8:25PM

This week's prize is a good one. No, make that a great one. Kristen King, of Inkthinker, is offering up a half hour of career counseling to one of my readers here at Adventures in Freelancing. What a generous contribution of her time. I have to say you people would be crazy not to jump at this chance!

Kristen is a freelance writer and editor who achieved success in a relatively short amount of time. She gives tips on what's worked for her at her blog, but imagine having a half hour to talk to an established freelancer of her caliber. Having the opportunity to get your questions about the freelancing life answered according to your personal situation is not something that comes around just every day.

Take a look at what others have to say about Kristen, her abilities, and talents. Leave a comment here with what you hope to gain from a one-on-one consulting session or the biggest question you'd ask Kristen. I'll pick a winner at random on Tuesday, February 3rd. All entries must be received by noon EST on that date. Lots of luck to you.

By the way, I'm really peeved that I'm not eligible for this one!

I am looking to make the move from blogging to print work and I'm very unsure about how to make that transition. Also, like amely, I need help with my resume and seriously selling myself!!

Did you say picked at random? I'll plead my case anyway. I'm a stay-at-home father for my two daughters, both under two (phew!). My oldest daughter is deaf, we have 3-4 weekly therapy appointments and if I don't make my earning goals my daughter's future suffers. I could really benefit from the consult. Either way, cool idea to get registered readers!

Ooh! Perfect Timing!

I'm reading lots of business and writing books, because I'm going to be moving in June and losing my teaching job (which I am looking forward to!) I would love to talk to Kristen about how to make a business plan (or at least a game plan) for my new venture (which I'm not 100% sure of right now.) I'd love to have her give me advice about transitioning from a more traditional job to freelancing.

Freelancing is the the great opportunity to work from home. no need to do work in fixed time and no need to go anywhere to complete work.
